The Emmys are underway, with the who's who of American television walking the red carpet for the popular awards ceremony in Los Angeles.A number of Australians are up for awards today including The Mentalist's Simon Baker, who has been nominated for best actor in a drama series.
Actresses Rose Byrne and Toni Collette have also been nominated, as well as Aussie director Michael Rymer for Battlestar Galactica.
Stylish period drama Mad Men and comedy 30 Rock are the favourites to scoop top honours in their categories.
